WHAT WE DO
Mexico Ministry
The ministry we support in Mexico is led by a trusted brother in Christ, Pastor Jesus Herminio Castillo Rodriguez. Pastor Herminio would call himself a "pastor of pastors". While he is not tied to one specific church, he travels to church plants all over Mexico and raises up a new generation of pastors to lead new churches. Brother Herminio travels to multiple different states and cities across Mexico to oversee and guide the work being done in each area. The mission work we support in Mexico consists of church planting, orphanages, women's shelters, rehabilitation centers, and feeding programs. Locations
The six main locations we work in in Mexico are; Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, Bahuchivo, Chihuahua, Choix, Sinaloa, El Fuerte, Sinaloa, Los Mochis, Sinaloa, and Axtla De Terrazas, San Luis Potosi. While these are our main six bases for the Mexico ministry, there are multiple cities and towns surrounding these central areas in which we support. Throughout these locations, we have planted many churches, schools, rehab centers, and programs to provide jobs and housing for the homeless. See the map below to gain a geographical understanding of where our mission field in Mexico is.
Church Plants
The great commission in Matthew 28 states "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, know, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." This commandment from Jesus is one we should not overlook. It is our mission to spread the Gospel as widely as possible with the resources we have. One of the ways we have worked to abide by this commandment is through the planting of churches all over Mexico. We believe that by starting bible believing churches that are run by trusted pastors, the name of God will be spoken more widely around the world. Cuauhtémoc is where the mother church that we support is located. The church is called Fuerzas Para Vivir meaning, "Strength to live". In Cuauhtémoc, Fuerzas Para Vivir supports street missions for children along with hosting services and inviting the community. Once a month, Fuerzas Para Vivir leads the community in a feeding program. Tents are set up in the town square and the church cooks food for hundreds of people. Following the meal, the community is led in a service full of teaching, worship, and prayer. This is one example of how we raise up churches to love the community and spread the Gospel. It is our hope that in planting these churches, more disciples will be made who will then go on to make more and so on. We yearn for a generation of people who are on fire for the Lord and long to make his name known.
Rehabilitation Centers
One of the biggest issues we see in Mexico is the struggle of addiction. In ministering to many different towns in Mexico, we noticed an increasing amount of young men who fell into a life of drug and alcohol abuse. In an attempt to win more souls to Christ, we have opened rehabilitation centers for young men in Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua and El Fuerte, Sinaloa. These rehab centers provide a safe place for young men to come stay while they work to overcome their addictions and turn their lives around. While at the rehab centers, these young men receive biblical guidance from trusted mentors and brothers in Christ who walk beside them in their journey to sobriety.
Shelters
One of our missional goals is to get as many people as our resources will allow off of the streets. The cities and towns in Mexico have a large population of homeless people and we would like to see this number shrink. One of the ways we have done that is through mens rehabilitation centers. Another way we are doing it is through women and children shelters. In Cuauhtémoc, we have opened a homeless shelter specifically for the Tarahumara Indian tribe. The shelter is run by a Tarahumara couple who speaks the language and understands the culture. This allows the members of the shelter to feel at home and comfortable while working to accomplish life goals. Another area in which we offer a shelter program is in El Fuerte, Sinaloa. In El Fuerte we have opened a shelter for orphaned children. There are a lot of children who live in the streets of Mexico. The shelter is run by women who help take care of the children as a mother would. All of these different opportunities for shelter also allow these men, women, and children to see the love of Jesus. After all, in Matthew 22, Jesus commands us to love our neighbor as ourselves. We believe that this commandment is not limited to our neighbors in the comfort of our own homes. We place value in loving the people of Mexico and doing all that we can to share the love of Christ with them. We hope that these shelters will do just that and also light a fire in their souls to eventually go and share that love of Jesus with others throughout their life.
Schools
Along with all of these different mission outreaches, we have had the opportunity to open up a couple of bible schools. These schools teach young adults what it means to follow God and lead a new generation of believers. The schools are essential to our mission as they train up young leaders to eventually go continue the mission through planting more churches or pastoring churches we have already established. We have had the opportunity to bring young Christians from many different areas of Mexico to attend these school programs. The schools allow a place for young adults who may not have much opportunity to come study the Word of God and learn how to apply it to their own lives. What better way to continue the mission of the Gospel than to educate a young generation on how to live out the Gospel of Christ to its fullest.
